This year’s Wolf Büttner Prize for Community Engagement has been awarded to “Aktion Canchanabury” from Bochum. The award ceremony was held during the annual BBH conference at Französische Friedrichstadtkirche in Berlin.
For the third time, the BBH group awards the €5.000 prize to a non-profit organisation in memory of the law firm’s founder Wolf Büttner, who passed away in 2020. This year's prize goes to the “Aktion Canchanabury e.V.” campaign proposed by Dietmar Spohn and the municipal utility company Stadtwerke Bochum, which supports people in Africa with projects relating to education and healthcare.
"We face major climate challenges all over the world. To overcome them, access to education is essential. A cornerstone of this is the ‘Aktion Canchanabury e.V.’ campaign which supports educational and social projects in Africa as well as women with micro-credits - a project that our law firm founder Wolf Büttner would certainly have been very happy to support,” said Prof. Christian Held at the award ceremony.
The BBH group is a leading provider of advisory services for energy and infrastructure companies and their customers.
