Germany is to achieve climate neutrality by 2045 by transforming its energy and heat sectors. The BBH group has long dealt with the associated issues as well as many other tasks of the economy, and will continue to do so in the upcoming decades.

Energy
Munich-based Manuel Bolkart, who holds an M.Sc. in environmental engineering, is part of the team of BBH partners Jürgen Gold and Tobias Sengenberger and the go-to person for municipal utilities, industrial companies and municipalities when it comes to energy industry audits and advice.
Stuttgart-based lawyer Dr. Christian Gemmer specialises together with BBH partner Dr. Michael Weise in legal matters of renewable energy sources and combined heat and power. He also advises clients on heat supply, e-mobility, electricity and energy tax law as well as European energy law.
Lawyer Tillmann Specht is a member of the team of BBH partners Jens Panknin and Dr. Heiner Faßbender based in BBH’s Cologne office and an expert in energy law with a focus on the gas industry. He also specialises in civil and civil procedure law, particularly contract law, as well as in antitrust law and administrative law.
Lars Dittmar, who holds a degree in energy and environmental management, has been a consultant with BBH Consulting AG in Berlin since 2020. Energy policy and regulatory analyses, energy market analyses and the planning of strategic investments in heat grids are his core areas of expertise. He also helps municipal clients develop strategies for the heat transformation.
IT
Stephan Poll, who holds a degree in business information systems and has been a consultant with BBH Consulting AG in Berlin since 2012, was also made partner counsel. He specialises in the management of IT projects and advises clients on their IT strategy and IT applications.
M&A and valuation
David Klee, who has an M.Sc. in market-oriented management, a B.A. in business administration and is a Certified Valuation Analyst (EACVA e.V.), is based in Berlin. Together with the team of BBH partners Thomas Straßer and Tobias Sengenberger, he focuses on the valuation of companies, intangible assets, energy supply grids as well as energy generation installations. David also provides advice in the context of M&A and due diligence investigations.
Audit
Tax advisor and public auditor Michael Koch works at BBH AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft in Cologne, primarily auditing and advising energy industry companies and companies owned by municipalities. He also audits industrial companies pursuant to the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG) and the Combined Heat and Power Act (KWKG).
Taxes
Tax advisor Björn Jeske is a graduate economist who also holds an LL.M. (oec.) degree. He is based in Erfurt and a member of the team of BBH partners Rudolf Böck, Manfred Ettinger and Bianca Engel, which is working from several locations. Björn provides tax advice to energy supply companies, focusing on value added tax.
Water
Lawyer Sascha Köhler, an expert in all matters relating to water law, is based in Berlin and a member of BBH partner Daniel Schiebold’s team. She advises on public law in the area of water supply and wastewater disposal, specialising in administrative procedures regarding water withdrawal and the discharge of wastewater as well as in the drafting of articles of association and the imposition of municipal charges.
Hydrogen
David Siegler M.Sc., works as a consultant at BBH Consulting AG in Cologne. He advises energy supply companies on business development and sector coupling through hydrogen.
