Negotiations on the merger between the two companies started in spring 2022. BBH provided strategic and legal support as well as advice on tax and business aspects in the ensuing process.

In addition to ENERGIERIED merging with GGEW, a new water supplier, WASSERRIED, was established and will be in charge of supplying the towns of Lampertheim and Bürstadt with water. There had been a common will to join forces for some time based on cross-shareholdings, a consortium agreement and the excellent partnership between both companies.

The quite complex structure of the transaction ensures that the companies and their shareholders benefit from the transaction. In the coming months, the integration of the two companies will be further advanced with the continued support of BBH.
