BBH strengthens its management team with six key promotions
BBH keeps growing. The law firm has promoted public auditor and tax advisor Bianca Engel to partner at its Erfurt office. A native of Thuringia, she has helped establish the BBH office in Central Germany since its foundation in 2014. Bianca Engel assists companies of a wide variety of sectors in the audit of annual and consolidated financial statements as well as in special audits and also provides tax and business advice. A new partner has also been appointed at BBH’s Berlin office: Lawyer Christian Thole has been working with BBH in Berlin and Brussels since 2003, with a three-year interlude as policy officer for energy and litigation at the German Federal Network Agency (BNetzA). He has been providing specialist advice to the energy sector since 2007 with a focus on the gas and hydrogen industry. In this context, he specialises in the switching of market areas from L-gas to H-gas, which is currently the largest infrastructure project of the gas industry in Germany.
BBH has also strengthened its broader management by adding four new partners counsel with outstanding expertise in their respective areas of practice. Lawyer Dr. Malaika Ahlers provides advice on heat supply and decentralised energy concepts, in particular, in the real estate sector. Lawyer Dominique Couval is an expert for sales, grid access, regulatory matters and contracts with long-standing experience in the area of gas. The third new partner counsel at the Berlin office is lawyer Christoph Lamy, who provides advice on a wide range of renewable energy law issues. The Munich tax team has been expanded with the promotion of tax advisor Christian Fesl to partner counsel. He assists primarily medium-sized and industrial companies in the preparation of annual financial statements, in matters of financial accounting and tax returns.
Partner Prof. Dr. Ines Zenke is pleased: “BBH has now, in its 30th year, over 4,000 clients, about 600 employees and seven offices. Our practice areas are getting increasingly complex with the megatrends of climate change and energy transition, digitalisation and globalisation. Our colleagues are experts in their respective fields and understand our clients’ needs. We have made excellent additions to our management team and will continue to do so in the future. We are there for our clients.”
