As of 01/01/2022, the BBH group appointed three new partners: two lawyers and a public auditor/tax advisor. Furthermore, five colleagues were elevated to partner counsel status and have thus become part of the group’s extended management team.
The transformation to a climate neutral economy poses an enormous challenge to companies. Thanks to its strong, interdisciplinary positioning, BBH is well prepared to assist companies across all sectors in this endeavour. As of the beginning of the year, BBH has further expanded its corporate management. Andreas Große, Benedikt Doms and Stefan Mackenrodt were appointed partners of BBH.
Lawyer and specialist lawyer for administrative law Andreas Große has been working at BBH Berlin since 2007. Being a renowned expert for renewable energy sources, he advises energy-intensive industrial companies as well as companies from the renewable energy sector. Andreas Große has extensive expertise in administrative proceedings specialising in the approval/licensing of installations and planning law.
Since 2008, lawyer Benedikt Doms has also been advising clients at BBH’s Berlin office. His practice focuses on concession procedures, the area of M&A as well as the drafting of participation models and the restructuring of energy supply companies under company law. He was, for example, part of the BBH team that advised the federal state of Berlin on the major project of remunicipalising the Berlin electricity grid through the acquisition of Stromnetz Berlin GmbH.
With the appointment of Stefan Mackenrodt as partner of BBH, the firm has further expanded its auditing division in Cologne. In his capacity as a public auditor and tax advisor, Stefan Mackenrodt not only deals with the traditional auditing of annual financial statements but is also highly experienced in audits relating to energy industry surcharges of all kinds.
The new partners counsel include lawyer, tax advisor and specialist lawyer for tax law Sophia von Hake, lawyer and specialist lawyer for administrative law Micha Klewar, public auditor and tax advisor Sven Reinhardt as well as the energy industry consultants Dr. Hanno Butsch and Manfred Jakobs.
Sophia von Hake specialises in tax law at the firm’s office in Munich. Together with partners Rudolf Böck, Thomas Straßer and Tobias Sengenberger at BBH’s Munich office, she advises clients on M&A matters and is an expert for tax structuring in corporate reorganisations.
As part of the team of BBH partner Matthias Albrecht, also in Munich, Micha Klewar advises clients on all legal matters relating to renewable energy sources and district heating supply. Further core areas of his work are the planning and approval/licensing of energy installations as well as the optimisation of energy costs.
At BBH Erfurt, the experienced public auditor and tax advisor Sven Reinhardt acts as the point of contact for public sector entities and the municipal sector together with BBH partner Bianca Engel.
H2 specialist Dr. Hanno Butsch provides advice on sector coupling by way of hydrogen technologies together with BBHC board member Marcel Malcher at BBHC Consulting AG in Cologne and assists companies and municipalities in all matters concerning hydrogen. He develops strategies for long-term transformation processes and has been in charge of numerous – also interdisciplinary – pilot projects in this area.
Manfred Jakobs is part of the team of BBHC board member Dr. Andreas Lied at BBH Consulting AG in Munich and focuses primarily on the technical aspects relating to market communication, business and billing processes. With his extensive technical knowledge in the area of the energy industry, he assists clients in optimising their IT processes.
