Likron will be part of the green tech group Volue. With the acquisition of Likron, a leading provider in the dynamic field of trading systems for the highly automated short-term energy trading market, Volue will expand its portfolio of software and technology services. The law firm Becker Büttner Held (BBH) provided comprehensive legal advice in the context of the deal.
The aim of the deal is to create an algorithmic trading powerhouse that can provide IT solutions for volatile and flexible energy generation, plant and portfolio optimisation and energy trading. Ten years ago, Likron was founded in Munich, Germany, to facilitate automated trading, using IT solutions and quantitative analysis. Likron’s algorithmic solutions trade significant volumes on the continuous electricity and gas markets of the energy exchanges EPEX, NORD POOL and Pegas. Volue offers IT services for the energy and infrastructure markets ranging from analysis and dispatching to asset management and monetarisation.
