Prof. Dr. Dörte Fouquet specialises in European law and international legal relations with a focus on competition, infrastructure, energy and environmental law. She advises mainly companies, financial institutions, associations and governmental agencies in Germany and other EU Member States as well as EU institutions and at international level.

- 1993-2010 partner at the Brussels office of the law firm Kuhbier (advising European and international clients on European and international law, competition, energy, transport and environmental matters)
- 2011-2020 partner and head of BBH Brussels

- Since 2021 member of the supervisory board of E-Control (the Austrian regulatory authority for electricity and natural gas)
