Astrid Meyer-Hetling acts for numerous local authorities and municipal companies across Germany, particular in regard to issues relating to the reorganisation of the municipalities’ economic activities in the energy sector. In her practice, she focuses regularly on complex matters on the interface between antitrust, energy, company and regulatory law. Astrid Meyer-Hetling has extensive expertise in representing her clients in court. In her litigation practice, she has brought about several landmark decisions of higher regional courts as well as the Federal Court of Justice (BGH) in the area of energy concession law. She provides comprehensive advice in the context of transactions, cooperation projects, company reorganisations as well as the foundation of new companies in the energy industry. Among others, she advised the State of Berlin on the takeover of Stromnetz Berlin GmbH acting as lead counsel for the transaction.
She is a regular contributor to specialist journals (among others, ZNER, EnWZ, IR, ER) and a frequent speaker at events across Germany.
